5 ways to save your expensive leather shoes

Shoes often speak louder than words. Yes, believe it or not, many people make shoe contact before eye contact. What you wear and how you carry it says a lot about who you are. And since first impressions are usually there to stay, why make an unclean one with untidy shoes? And that too classy leather ones!
You can easily follow any of the methods given below to leave your stylish leather feet-mate sparkling clean. But first always remember to begin with brushing off dirt and debris with a soft cloth to witness foot-tapping results!

BLOTCHES

Dropped a little something on your expensive leather boots? No problem! For effective spot cleaning use lemon juice and cream of tartar. Mix both these ingredients in equal proportions and apply the same with a clean cloth to the stained area. Wipe off the solution after a while for best results.

MUD SMEARS

A mixture of vinegar and water is highly recommended to effectively clean your favourite leather footwear. Mix equal parts of both these ingredients and apply the same with a clean cloth, in a blotting action. Condition to prevent drying and watch your leather shoes become as good as new.

OIL STAINS

Don’t your favourite leather shoes look ugly with oil stains fallen all over? A box of cornstarch is all you need to absorb the greasy stain. Rub the cornstarch right into the spot and leave your leather shoes shiny and clean!

DIRT SPOTS

This hack is the most favourite for all leather shoe lovers! Use an old toothbrush and apply a small amount unflavored toothpaste right on the stain. Work it in gently, and then rub off with a clean cloth. Condition afterwards to ensure the longevity of the shoe’s life.

BLACK MARKS

This old school hack often does the trick like no other. To clean your stained leather footwear, use a mild soap and with the help of a damp rag apply the same in a circular motion. Wipe clean with a dry towel to finish. Follow with conditioning to prevent drying, made using vinegar and linseed oil.

Owning a pair of leather shoes is definitely a fashion luxury. So, remember to get a clean chit for your leather feet at least once a month with these fantastic hacks. But also remember that excessive care and cleaning too can have adverse effects, so take it easy and stay classy!
